Getting prepped for Capture the Flag.
This is just the second layer (out of four)!
Playing Capture the Flag outside in the snow with a dozen teenaged boys is just plain crazy and awesome. I cobbled together makeshift flags for my winter camp kids to use in our game this afternoon. Amazing what a few plastic bags, disposable chopsticks and duct tape can do! I ended up face-first in a gigantic pile of snow about five times over the course of an hour-long melee. It's definitely a good thing that I'm a tomboy (and that I am fairly easy-going), because I imagine most girls would have cried after having fistfuls of snow thrown directly at their faces!
It's been ridiculously cold lately, making it compulsory to wear at least three layers of clothing when venturing outside. And I don't give a flying fart what people say about being stylish at all times - it's friggin' impossible when the temperature drops below zero and all of the sidewalks are iced over. You can be an idiot, or you can keep all of your fingers and toes for later use.
'Nuff said!
